How We Are Governed
Clare Parker Homes Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization and is overseen by a Board of Directors, which is a volunteer board. They are charged with establishing the direction of the agency and oversee the finances related to the operations of the agency, the charitable donations and outlined by the funders.
The Board of Directors is made up of members of our Community, United Church Representatives, and Family Representatives. They typically meet nine times per year.
The Executive Director of CPH reports directly to the Board of Directors, which consists of 12 members.
CPH's Board of Directors are to ensure the Mission, Vision and Principles and Policy and Procedures Manual are reviewed/revised bi-annually. The maintenance of the strategic plan is an on-going function of the Board.
At the first meeting of the new Board of Directors, held immediately following the Annual Meeting, the Board of Directors elects a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
- There is orientation for each newly appointed Board member.
- Board development and on-going training is encouraged.
- Expenses incurred while involved in agency business will be reimbursed by CPH.
The Board of Directors of CPH receives funding from Community Living Services Delivery (CLSD) of the Ministry of Social Services for the operation of each home support program. Triennially, a service agreement is renewed between CPH and CLSD. However, yearly, a budget request for all areas of operation is submitted to CLSD for approval. The total approved budget is paid in advanced monthly instalments to the Board of Directors.
